Kopitar, the star that shines under the California sun

The one who currently occupies the 43rd place in history in terms of matches played and who could occupy the 31st place in this category by the end of the season has not stolen his reputation and the legend that he has been building for nearly 20 years, as evidenced by his: 427 goals, 815 assists for a total of 1,242 points in 1,400 games, his two Stanley Cups, his two Selke trophies rewarding the defensive aspect of his game and his Mark Messier trophy which rewards his leadership as he has served as captain of the Kings since 2016. That's not all. Since turning 30 in August 2017, he has only missed three games.

A star is born

When we think that he was drafted 11th overall in the 2005 draft after several players who no longer play in the National League or who only passed through like a shooting star, the Los Angeles Kings with whom he has spent his entire career to date achieving a true masterstroke.

Worthy of a tale of cloaks and daggers

Every year, the NHL draft becomes the scene of magical stories like that of Anze Kopitar, the captain of the Los Angeles Kings since 2016 and the first Slovenian to play in the Bettman Circuit, the one who had to from a very young age go into exile in Sweden to realize his dream and obtain the best training. However, only exceptional athletes and individuals transform these beautiful stories into true legends...

Like the one that Anze Kopitar has been writing for almost 20 years. And who can predict where this story will end? This is precisely what makes it so beautiful.
